A Place for Fido

The best! I started going to A Place for Fido last year when I got a puppy. The owner and staff have been so helpful, knowledgeable, fun and friendly. I usually bring my pup along. She loves visiting and is always greeted and even offered a treat! Great selection of anything your pup needs, and an even greater selection of things they don’t need, but you’ll buy because it’s all fabulous.

Great pet (dog) store, everything you need from collars to chewy treats! Located one floor below the Fitger’s hotel lobby, access from inside or from the lake walk outside.

Over the years I have bought a multitude of boots, coats, harnesses, toys, treats, etc at a Place for Fido. Very high quality products. Certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. Can be very busy on the weekend so if you need help with fittings, I would try to go during the week when staff will have more time to assist if needed. It is one of my favorite places to go with my dog. I always find the staff to be very helpful and tolerant of my sweet girl who is definitely a work in progress. Fitger's is a great place to take your dog for some indoor manners training, social interactions, and exposure to things such as elevators.

Customer service was not great. The two women working starred at us from a distance the whole time. It was very uncomfortable and awkward. Finally one of them asked if we were looking for anything in particular and I said I was taking pictures to promote their business on Google. End of discussion. No, "OK, let me know if you need anything." And no pleasant, "goodbye, come again!" as we left. Seemed very inexperienced in making the customer feel welcome and serving them holistically. But maybe they were just weirded out that I was taking pictures of everything? Either way definitely an area for improvement and something a manager or owner should be aware of as they continue to grow as a business. The store was very well kept and laid out comfortably. I was impressed with their selection of interactive food bowls for dogs with high energy and active minds. They had a lot of unique gift ideas for dog lovers which was fun! I would consider going back around Christmas time! I wish them all the best and hope their employees have some training on customer care soon!

A cute dog friendly spot to visit! They didn’t have a ton of selection but what they did have was high end. Lots of unusual clothing options for your pooch! It was a little too pricy for me, but I have 2 dogs so I have to buy 2 of everything!
